After completing the Optimal Tree Utilization lesson students will be able to understand basic concepts of how to turn trees into logs and make decisions about how to maximize the utilization of tree volume in accordance with mill specifications. After completing the Managing Oregon's Forests Together lesson students will be able to make decisions about how to manage different forest units that address competing demands, such as maintaining biodiversity, meeting wood processing needs, and reducing risk of forest fires.
